Writecamp is an 'unconference' to be held on Oct 29, 2011 at the National Museum of Singapore, as part of the Singapore Writers Festival under the Off the Page section. 

Writecamp is focused on writing/publishing/literature and other issues pertaining to writing, crowdsourced from the community. Off-the-wall topics are encouraged!

The aim of Writecamp is for participants learn from each other and to share their knowledge and thoughts on writing and publishing.

The event is free. You do not need a SWF pass to attend. If you wish to attend please register, so we can have a gauge on number of people coming.(You won't need to print out the tickets sent by Eventbrite as well; they're for our records to get an idea of people coming.) 

If you're interested to be a speaker, please go to the booth tomorrow. Please note that only two non-projector enabled slots are available.

It highlights a pragmatic and low-risk approach towards becoming a successful writer.
Journey from manuscript to a published book V. Gopalakrishnan   V. Gopal will be releasing his first novel titled "The Mythical Emblems of Gragodon - Part 1", an epic Adventure-Fantasy novel, during SWF. Gopal will share with the audience the long road that he took from conceptualizing the plot of the story till the final leg of having his book published. He will give the audience an idea of what they are up against if they intend to embark on an authoring journey.  
Bringing digital publishing tools to writers - Pandamian Pandamian @pandamian  We are building Pandamian with the hopes of helping writers simplify their digital publishing process. We are currently in free beta stage and would like to have an open discussion with writers on the problems they are facing and how internet tools can help them. Will be doing a short presentation on the features we have built on Pandamian, based on the problems we have identified, and how it helps writers. Q&A will focus on getting feedback from writers on whether they feel that Pandamian is the tool for them and if not, why.  
Genre fiction in Singapore Joyce Chng @jolantru  Writer Joyce Chng will discuss the possibilities of writing genre fiction in Singapore. Plus tips on writing genre fiction for aspiring writers and how to hook your publisher. Think big, think beyond SG. Joyce Chng writes Young Adult and Science Fiction & Fantasy. She has published Urban Fantasy books under her penname J Damask with Lyrical Press, a US publisher.  
Why Ebooks suck (and why they are great)  Peter Schoppert   This version was presented at BarCamp SG a couple of months ago, updated to take into account recent developments. 
Writing and publishing engineering, spiritual and self-help books – a personal journey  Dr. Tommy Wong   Dr. Wong has written engineering, spiritual and self-help books. He has also published these books through an international, a local and self publishers. In this talk, he will share his personal journey on how he managed to write and publish these books of completely different genres.
